Samsung Electronics unveiled its low-cost model for the Galaxy S20 flagship smartphone yesterday, as the South Korean giant aims to boost smartphone sales amid the outbreak of the global pandemic.
The Galaxy S20 Fan Edition is designed to provide the favorite features of the S20 series at a more affordable price, according to the company that revealed the phone at the “Galaxy Unpacked for Every Fan” event, which was organized via the Internet.
Thus, the world’s leading smartphone company has four models in the “Galaxy S20” series, which first appeared last February with the S20 for beginners, the S20 for the average, and the S20 Ultra.
And starts the price of “S20FE”, which supports networks of the fifth generation of 699 USD, which is cheaper by 300 dollars than the phone S20 standard, according to “Yonhap”.
“We talk constantly to our audience and receive their feedback,” said Roh Tae-moon, head of Samsung’s mobile communications business. “We heard what they liked the most about the Galaxy S20 series and the most frequently used features.”
“The S20FE is an extension of the S20 family, and it is the start of a new way to bring meaningful innovations to more people,” he added.
The phone features a 32-megapixel front camera, and a triple-rear camera with a 12-megapixel primary pickup, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, and an 8-megapixel telephoto lens.
The phone also has a 6.5-inch screen, with a refresh rate of 120 Hz, 6 GB of RAM, 128 GB of internal storage memory, and it can be expanded to 1 TB via microSD cards.
The phone comes in six colors: red, orange, purple, green, dark blue and white.
The company said that the device will be launched globally on October 2, although the models and colors available may differ in each market. The pre-orders in South Korea will begin on October 6, with the country launching in mid-October.
The S20FE phone is expected to compete with the iPhone 12 series, which will be unveiled next month.
