The President of the International Handball Federation, Hassan Mustafa, clarified his exciting statement at the opening of the World Handball World Cup “Egypt 2021”, in which he said that President Hosni Mubarak asked to miss the Egypt match in favor of France in the 2001 World Cup.

In his intervention, Hassan Mustafa assured that everyone was happy with the dazzling opening of the Handball World Cup Egypt 2021, indicating that there are strict precautionary measures that have been taken.
Hassan Mustafa surprised everyone during a speech he gave at the hand-drawn tournament “Egypt 2021”, when he talked about facing France and Egypt in the World Cup semi-finals in 2001, where he said: “I met with the late Jacques Chirac, the former president of France, and I told him that Mohamed Hosni Mubarak, the former president of Egypt, spoke with me to miss the match between the two countries in the 2001 World Cup.
He added, “Mubarak told me, the French are our friends, and this is what I told Chirac when I met him.”
It is worth noting that Egypt lost that match to France, by 21-24, to climb to the final and crowned the title at the expense of Sweden, while Egypt finished the tournament in fourth place, after losing the third-place match against Yugoslavia 17-27.
