Dr. Hussam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, confirmed that studying in universities and institutes for the “new academic year 2020-2021” will take place on time, October 17th.
“Abd al-Ghaffar” added in a special statement to “Al-Masry Al-Youm”: that the Ministry of Higher Education did not announce the postponement of the study from the ground up until it graduated to deny the “postponement”, and “Abdul Ghaffar” criticized the rumors that circulate from time to time about postponing the study, pointing out that this causes confusion. Noting that the timetable approved by the Supreme Council of Universities will be made without any change, which recognizes the start of studies on October 17 and ends on January 21/2021, after which the exams for the end of the first semester start from Saturday 01/23/2021 until Thursday 4/2 / 2021, after which the mid-year vacation begins on 6/2/2021 until 2/18/2021, then studies resume in the second semester on 2/20/2021, to end on 6/10/2021.
The end of the second semester exams are conducted during the months of June and July 2021, according to the nature of study and examinations in each college. It is noteworthy that large numbers of students launched a campaign on social networking sites on the first day, with postponement of studies in universities and institutes, and the campaign topped the Twitter trend.
For his part, Dr. Mahmoud Al-Matini, President of Ain Shams University, conducted an inspection tour of Al-Alsun College, which aimed to follow up the construction work of 13 educational halls that can accommodate a maximum of 22 students in each hall, to support the college’s new programs, develop educational halls and provide them with all technological devices, which are intended They are finished in a matter of days.
Al-Matini stressed the need to optimally utilize all areas in the college, and directed to provide all necessary capabilities for the process of developing the college’s infrastructure, as well as to expedite the completion of renovations before the start of the new academic year. The tour witnessed the inspection of a number of halls and places that are expected to develop preliminary scenarios in cooperation with the Consulting Center at the College of Engineering and the Department of Engineering Affairs at the university to use them to meet the requirements of the educational process in the college according to the highest quality standards.
