Sayed Abdel Hafeez, the football director at Al-Ahly, revealed that there is a state of relief within the team’s technical staff, led by Pitso Mosimane, about Ramy Rabia, the team’s defender, in the CAF Champions League final.
Abdul Hafeez said toFilGoal.com: “There is a state of relief about Rami Rabia’s presence with Al-Ahly in the final.”
“The player is recovering from the injury in the posterior muscle well and is close to returning to training,” he added.
“Rabia will return to participate in group training within one week at the most, and this gives us hope for his presence with us in the final,” he added.
Rabiaa suffered a ruptured posterior muscle several weeks ago, due to which he missed Al-Ahly in the African semi-finals against Moroccan Wydad.
When asked about Al-Ahly’s position on Ahmed Fathy, he responded by saying: “I do not want to talk much about Fathi. Fathi is a (man) player, whether he is with us in the final or not.”
Fathi’s career with Al-Ahly ends with the end of the Egyptian League against Tale’aa El-Geish next Monday.
