Zamalek defeated Raja Casablanca 1-0 in the first leg of the CAF Champions League semi-finals.
Amir Mortada said in statements to Zamalek TV after the meeting: “What we saw today is the Zamalek team. Male players have a personality on the stadium, and I thank the management that protected us in light of the war and provided us with everything necessary for success.”
He added, “Hazem Imam was ready in a large percentage and he could participate today, but there was fear of his injury again, and we preferred to participate in Ahmed Eid because we trust him. Hazem Imam also had his role with Eid in talking with him and preparing him for the meeting.”
The superintendent of the ball at the Zamalek club continued, “Ferjani Sassi was fighting to participate until the last minute. He will undergo a new smear and if it is negative, he will be ready to participate in the second leg.”
He completed, “Mahmoud Alaa’s rays were sound, but his participation would have been risky. We will work to prepare him for the return home as soon as he returns to Egypt, and if he is not ready, then there is no fear in the presence of Al-Winch and Mohamed Abdel Ghani.”
Zamalek is preparing to face Raja next Saturday at Cairo Stadium in the second leg of the African Champions League semi-finals.
