The Egyptian national team announced the inclusion of a number of players waiting for Al-Ahly and Zamalek’s journey in the African Champions League.
Mohamed Bassam said: “It is an honor for any player to join the Egyptian national team. That was my goal and I have been working on it for a long time and thank God that I was on the team list.”
He added via Ontime Sports 2, “Ayman Taher, the goalkeeper coach, was in constant contact with me and he did this with all the guards and supported me to continue my level.”
He revealed, “The face of Pyramids in the quarter-finals of the Egyptian Cup was the most prominent of my matches this season and appeared well, and Al-Jaysh reached the semi-finals for the second time in its history, and this is an honorable thing.”
Speaking about the national team, Bassam said: “The competition of El-Shenawi and Abu Jabal in the goalkeeping of the Egyptian national team is definitely difficult.”
“My participation is up to the technical staff and the most important thing is to score points for my confrontation with Togo,” he added.
Speaking about negotiations with Al-Ahly, he explained, “I heard this inside the Talaia Al-Jaysh club, and that there are friendly contacts.”
“But no one has spoken to me officially yet,” he stressed.
And he concluded his remarks, “If there is a certain honor for any player to play with Al-Ahly, my contract is continuing with the army for two seasons.”
