FilGoal | News | West Brom coach: Hejazi and Ivanovic’s partnership is great

Lost Bromwich Albion coach Slavin Bilic praised the defense partnership between Ahmed Hegazy and Branslav Ivanovic at the Burnley meeting.

Egypt defender Ahmed Hegazy made his debut for West Bromwich Albion in the Premier League this season, during a goalless draw against Burnley this week.

“Ivanovic has shown expertise, leadership, quality and calm,” Bilic said in remarks highlighted by Express and Star.

“We were able to build attacks when we had the ball because Hejazi and Ivanovic were really quiet on the ball,” he added.

“They both deal very well with the Burnley strikers,” he added. “The opposing team has a distinctive front line that highlights their play, so you know that good crosses are coming to them.”

“Hejazi and Ivanovic succeeded in reducing the risk of Burnley’s attack,” he said, “I’m really happy with the way they played.”

West Brom tied at home against Burnley in the fifth round of the English Premier League. It is the first match that ends in a goalless draw in the Premier League this season.

West Brom scored its second point in the league this season and is ranked 17th in the table.

Burnley scored his first point in the league and finished 18th.

Hijazi played the full match, his first participation in the league this season, alongside veteran Ivanovic, who also played for the first time with West Brom since joining the team at the start of the season.
