The French authorities have arrested a person who, under the cover of the night, illegally infiltrated the Palace of Versailles because of his belief that he is king.
According to French press reports, the man at the age of 31 arrived at the palace in the suburbs of Paris late on Saturday by taxi and was wrapped in a bed mattress.
The man informed the driver of the car that he intended to infiltrate the palace, explaining that he considered himself the owner of the French crown. And the driver informed the police about this after the man left his car.
Upon the arrival of the police to the palace, their officers revealed that one of the glass doors had been smashed, and they found the “king” inside the palace and arrested him.
A spokesman for the Versailles Palace confirmed to reporters that the man did not cause any material damage to the artifacts in the building.
