Hisham Hatab, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Olympic Committee, said that next Saturday (October 31) is the last opportunity to call for the establishment of the Ordinary General Assembly, which is concerned with the election item for all sports bodies, including the Football Association.
During special statements at Layla Koura, Hatab said: “Next Saturday, October 31, is the last opportunity to call for the establishment of the Ordinary General Assembly, which is concerned with the election clause, in accordance with Article 16 of Sports Law No. 71 of 2017 which states that the General Assembly of the Sports Authority is held An ordinary meeting once a year to be called during the four months following the end of the fiscal year, according to the procedures and the quorum determined by the statute of the sports body.
Hatab added, “The law fixes the date for calling regular general assemblies during the period from the first of July until the end of October, which applies to all sports bodies, not just the Football Association.”
Hatab confirmed that until this moment there is nothing new with regard to this file, pending the outcome of the five-year committee consultations with FIFA officials.
It is worth noting that ambiguity still surrounds the fate of the FIFA board elections, at a time when the mandate of the five-year committee headed by Amr Al-Ganaini by FIFA ends on November 30th.
