With a double against Apollon Smirnis, in the seventh round of the Greek Premier League, Egyptian Ahmed Hassan “Coca”, the striker of Olympiacos team, continued his remarkable brilliance during the current season.
Coca led his team to the top of the Greek Premier League table, as Olympiacos’ 2-0 win over Apollon raised its score to 13 points, ahead of Ares on goal difference.
With his double in the local league, Coca continued his historic start, after he contributed directly to six goals in favor of Olympiacos, which he presented in five out of eight matches during which he played in the 2020/21 season, despite his participation in reserve in most cases.
The Egyptian striker scored four goals during the current season, and scored two goals, to contribute to six goals in eight matches, which is the best start made by Coca during his professional career, which began in 2021 with the Portuguese club Rio Ave.
After growing up with Al-Ahly, Coca played in the Rio Ave youth team in 2011, a year before his appearance in the first team jersey the following year, which was the shirt he wore until 2015, before playing for Sporting Braga in Portugal as well until 2020.
During his career with Sporting Braga, Coca played two terms on loan with Olympiacos, during the past two seasons, and after showing distinguished levels, the Greek giant finally contracted with him, for two million euros.
The best start for the Egyptian international striker was during the same number of matches, in the 2015/2016 season, where he scored four goals and set a goal for Sporting Braga at that time.
Coca opened the current season by making a goal for Olympiacos against Asteras Tripoli, in the second round of the Greek League, before making a new goal against Panetolikos in the third round, despite his participation as a substitute in the two matches.
Coca scored his first goal during the current season against Atromitos, in the fifth round of the same local competition, before scoring his most prominent goal against Marseille, in the first round of the group stage of the Champions League, although he participated as a substitute in the last minutes.
With his two goals against Apollon today, Coca raised his score to three goals in the Greek league, to occupy the third place in the scorers’ table of the competition, two goals behind Moroccan Youssef El Arabi, leader of the standings, and his colleague in the ranks of Olympiacos.
