Sami Shirts, the assistant coach in the technical staff of Al-Ahly club, denied that the team had injuries before facing Wydad among the members of the delegation, except for Mahmoud Kahraba only.
Kahraba suffers from a muscle injury that he suffered in the previous Pyramids match in the Egyptian League, but he traveled with the team hoping to return to training before the match date.
In statements to Al-Ahly TV, Shirts said: “Kahraba may participate in the team’s final training on Friday to get the opportunity to play against Wydad, but if this does not happen, the player will be prepared for the return meeting in Cairo.”
Moroccan Wydad will host the Al-Ahly team at nine oclock next Saturday in the first leg of the African Champions League semi-finals, provided that the Moroccan team will be a guest of Al-Ahly at Cairo Stadium for the second leg a week later.
Shirts added: “The team currently enjoys the highest degree of concentration. We are playing on a big goal. We arrived early before the game.
He finished shirts, saying: “We play in the semi-finals of the most important African championships. We are well aware of the responsibility. We have a coach who knows the Wydad team well and played against him a lot, and this will help us.”
