Today, Wednesday, 7 people, including two minors, will appear before an investigating judge specializing in terrorism cases, to investigate the crime, which killed a French teacher who was beheaded near a school in the suburbs of Paris.
French media reported that investigators will look specifically into messages the killer exchanged on “WhatsApp” with the father of a schoolgirl, to see if he colluded with him.
Sources said that the seven persons are minors, who are suspected of having received a sum of money from the killer in exchange for providing him with information about the victim, the father of a student who launched a campaign against the slain teacher, the Islamic preacher Abdul Hakim al-Safriwi, and three friends of the perpetrator who were suspected of taking him away or accompanying him when he bought a weapon.
Last Friday, teacher Samuel Patty was beheaded as he left his school in the suburbs of Paris, by an 18-year-old, of Chechen origin. The police shot dead this young perpetrator.
The French authorities say that the young man who committed the crime killed the teacher for displaying to his students cartoons considered offensive to the Prophet Muhammad, during a lesson on freedom of expression.
