The reluctance of Argentine, Miguel Jamondi, coach of the Moroccan Wydad team, to choose the players for the defense line to form it before facing Al-Ahly on Saturday, caused a major crisis that ignited the atmosphere of the team camp.
Al-Ahly defeated Wydad, with a clean double, at Mohammed V Stadium in the Moroccan city of Casablanca, in the first leg of the semi-finals of the African Champions League, and the two teams meet back in the Egyptian capital Cairo, on the twenty-third of this October.
A source close to the Moroccan Wydad team said, in exclusive statements to “Yallakora,” that Jamundi had prepared his defender Ashraf Dari to participate in the confrontation, despite his absence for nearly ten months due to injury, but he decided in the last moments to change his plans.
The same source added that Dari was informed a whole week ago that he would be in the main formation against Al-Ahly, but Jamundi suddenly decided to amend his plans, and pushed midfielder Yahya Gibran into the center of the defense, fearing that Dari would not be fully prepared for the important confrontation.
The sudden change caused great anger for the young defender, who got into an argument with the members of the coaching staff, and left the team camp shortly before the start of the confrontation.
Gebran usually plays in the position of the defensive midfielder, and played in only two confrontations in the center of defense during the current season, and Jamundi also retracted the payment of his Ivorian defender Sheikh Komara mainly, due to his recent recovery from injury, and participated in the substitute in the 63rd minute.
