The Swiss Football Association announced that Liverpool player, Xherdan Shaqiri, has been infected with the new Corona virus (Covid-19).
The Swiss Confederation issued an official statement confirming that the Shakeri sample was positive with the Coronavirus.
The Swiss Federation statement said that after consulting with health authorities, the player was isolated.
Shaqiri joined his country’s national team during the international break, when the Swiss national team was supposed to play a friendly match with Croatia on Wednesday.
The Swiss national team will then meet the teams of Spain and Germany in the European Nations League championship on the 10 and 13 of this month.
It is worth noting that Shaqiri is the second player from Liverpool to contract the virus, after the injury of Senegalese Sadio Mane.
