The White House says the president is “doing his job” and has “high morale.”
The White House clarified that US President Donald Trump suffers from mild symptoms of Covid-19 disease, after he and his wife Melania tested positive for the Corona virus.
The White House chief of staff said the president was “doing his job” and was “in high spirits,” adding that he expected his recovery quickly.
This comes nearly a month before Trump runs the presidential race against his Democratic opponent, Joe Biden.
On Friday, it was confirmed that Biden and his wife had not been infected with the virus.
Biden wrote on Twitter after announcing the result: “I hope this serves as a reminder … Put on masks, observe the rules of social distancing, and wash your hands.”
Nor has any other member of Trump’s close family been infected with the virus.

Hope Hicks escorted President Trump on Air Force One as he flew to Ohio for the first presidential debate with Biden on Tuesday.
Officials said that all those who had been in contact with the president in recent days were being tracked.
On Friday, they added, Trump was looking at how he could address the nation or communicate with the American people.
On Thursday, the couple announced that they intend to undergo self-isolation measures after Hope Hicks, a prominent Trump aide, tested positive for the virus, and the two soon learned that their results were also positive.
But there was criticism of Trump’s decision to go to a fundraising event attended by dozens in New Jersey on Thursday, apparently after officials had already learned about Hicks’ symptoms.
Hicks, 31, was with Trump on Air Force One when he headed to the first television presidential debate with Biden in Ohio on Tuesday. Some members of the Trump family who attended the debate appeared not wearing masks.
Trump used to refuse to wear a face mask, and he was often seen not adhering to the rules of social distancing with his aides or others during official events.
