We prepare safe health controls to organize Umrah trips


Dr. Khaled Al-Anani, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, said that the Ministry of Health is currently preparing a list of health controls and procedures that will be taken as soon as an official communication comes from the Saudi side, allowing the organization of Umrah trips from outside the Kingdom.

Al-Anani added, in a press statement today, Saturday, that Saudi Arabia has not officially notified Egypt of the start of receiving Umrah flights, but the Ministry of Health is currently preparing a list of precautionary controls to ensure the safety of Egyptian pilgrims and those in contact with them. Until the Ministry is waiting for the announcement of the Saudi health regulations for Umrah, to compare them with the Egyptian controls, with the aim of reaching the highest level of safety for Egyptian pilgrims and protecting them from infection with the new Corona virus.

He stressed, that the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities is following with great interest the crisis of returning the dues of Egyptian pilgrims whose trips have been canceled following the outbreak of the Corona pandemic, and the flights were abruptly stopped last March, after they were close to traveling to perform the rituals, continuing: “I personally recognized the Saudi ambassador in Cairo to address the Chamber of Tourism Companies On the return of Egyptian companies ‘dues to Saudi agents for last season, in order to be able to return them to customers, and I received a response from the Kingdom stating that most of the companies’ dues have been refunded and a few of them remain to be refunded.
