What happens to the deceased when praying 3 rows at his funeral?

Many hadeeths were mentioned in favor of He prayed for his funeral in three rows Among them is what was narrated by Ahmad and others on the authority of Malik bin Hubaira, may God be pleased with him, who said: The Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family, said: “No believer dies and a group of Muslims who has reached the age of one who has reached the age of three prayers will pray for them.” It is reported that the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family, said: “There is no dead that a Muslim nation may pray for, who will reach a hundred, all of whom will intercede for him unless they intercede for him.”
The scholars differed as to: Which rows are better for the funeral prayer, is it the first row as in the general prayer, or are they equal? A group of Shafi’is went to the latter.

Ibn Hajar al-Haytami said: “It confirms what Al-Zarkashi also discussed that the three desirable funeral rows are equal in merit. So that the people would not desire on behalf of someone other than the first, then the deceased would miss the virtue of making the worshipers over him three rows, and when the first rows of the worshiper over him were made up for it, the place of what he mentioned was in the one who came first.

And it says in “Tuhfat al-Muhtaj” (3/191): “Al-Zarkashi searched according to some of them: that the three rows are in one rank in virtue, and it is apparent, except in the case of those who came and have aligned the three, so it is better for him as it appears: to investigate the first. Because I only settled between the three, lest they leave it by presenting all of them to the first, and this is plucked here, even if he did not attend. ”

And Mustahabb worshipers made the funeral three rows, taken from modern scholars Marthad Alezne from Malik bin Hubaira said: The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him: «No Muslim prays it dies three rows of Muslims only enjoined»,

Ibn Qudamah mentioned: “It is desirable to describe three rows during funerals during the funeral prayer that was narrated on the authority of Malik bin Hubaira …” He mentioned the previous hadith and then said: “Al-Tirmidhi said: This is a good hadith. Ahmad said: I would like if there is a lack of them to make them three rows. They said: If there were four behind him, how would he make them? He said: He makes them two rows, two men in each row, and he dislikes them to be three, so there is one man in a row.

The bounty of those who prayed 40 men at his funeral

On the authority of Ibn Abbas, may God be pleased with him, he said: I heard the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family, say: “No Muslim man dies and rises to his funeral for forty men who do not share his affairs with him.” A Muslim does not share with him.

Aisha’s narration – may God be pleased with her – identified a hundred men, while Ibn Abbas – may God be pleased with them – mentioned the prayer of forty men for the dead, and the reason for the difference in the number is attributed to it. It was said: The reason for the question is different, and that is because the Prophet was asked –God prays on him- Once upon whomever a hundred prayed and sought intercession for him, he said: Intercession, and he was asked –God prays on him- Once again, the one who had forty prayers upon him answered that, and if he was asked about less than that, he would say that, because the supplication of one might be answered and his intercession accepted. ”This was mentioned in“ Sharh al-Bukhari ”by Ibn Battal (3/302), and“ Al-Mufhim ”by al-Qurtubi (2/605) ).

And the meaning of intercession mentioned in the previous hadiths: Supplication for the dead with mercy and forgiveness, this is the meaning of the intercession of the worshipers for the dead, andMeaning: May God intercede on him: That is, he accepted their supplication for him with mercy and forgiveness.

The previous hadiths guide us that the dead have mercy by praying the living for him, and that supplication for the dead in this number is one hundred or forty men among the reasons for God’s forgiveness for him.

Al-Mubarakfuri scholar of hadiths said: “In these hadiths: It is desirable for the funeral congregation to increase in number, and it is requested that they reach this number, which is one of the necessities of winning. And he restricted that to two things: The first is that they intercede for him, that is, sincere in his supplication, asking his forgiveness. The second: that they should be Muslims, and none of them associate anything with God, as in the hadith of Ibn Abbas.

How to pray the funeral and the ruling on who left it

Funeral prayer An obligation is sufficient, if some did it, sin is waived for the rest, and how to pray it, which is: the worshiper says the first takbeer and opens up and recites Al-Fatihah, then the second takbeer and prays upon the Prophet, peace and blessings of God be upon him, the Abrahamic prayer that we recite in the tashahhud prayer, then the third takbeer and strive for the dead With forgiveness and raising the ranks, and that God replaces him with good from his family, and that he succeeds him in his family with goodness, then grows up the fourth and calls for all Muslims alive and dead.

The best supplication in the funeral prayer is what is proven in Sahih Muslim and others that the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, prayed for a funeral. His supplication was: “Oh God, forgive him, have mercy on him, pardon him, forgive him, honor him, extend his entrance, wash it with water, snow and righteousness, and purify him from sins as the white garment is purified from impurity. And he changed him to a house that is better than his home, and to a family better than his family, and a better husband than his wife, and he will enter heaven and cure the trial of the grave and the torment of the fire. ”

How does the dead person live in his grave?

Grave It is the first place in the Hereafter, as the person in him is announced in his place in Heaven or his home from Hell, and if the servant is a believer, he will find comfort, space and happiness in his grave, and if he is a disobedient infidel and an adulterer, he will have the result of his distance from God in his grave and his denial of what God sent and brought by the prophets, and if The Muslim who entered the grave committed minor sins, and in this case he will have another treatment.

When does a person feel that his deadline is approaching

There are some dangerous situations in which a person knows that he is inevitably lost, such as his severe illness that does not hope to be cured, the person expects his death to be exposed to a fall from a high place or a fierce animal attack on him, or the person was hit by bullets, these accidents that a person is exposed to make him feel that his life is approaching .

How does the dead person live in his grave?

The second life of the deceased begins after entering it GraveSo, life does not end with the death of a person in fact of the matter, but rather he moves from a ruling on the life of this world by way of death to the afterlife, which was the beginning of the grave, and the grave is nothing but a path crossing between this world and the hereafter. It is the stage of presentation and calculation, distribution of prizes, and homes between Heaven and Hell.

Scholars disagreed with the soul’s return to the dead in his grave

The scholars differed on the issue of the two angels’ question of the dead in his grave, whether their question falls on the soul, on the body, or on both, and what they went to as follows:

The doctrine of Imam Abu Hanifa and al-Ghazali – may God have mercy on them – regarding this issue is stopping, but they recognized that the deceased in his grave feels some life, so he will enjoy some life if he is pious, and he will be tormented if he is otherwise, and he enjoys the pleasures that come to him as a reward for the good work he has offered. As for the question of the soul’s return to the body when asked and after the two angels, it is unstable for them. It can return to his body if he enters the grave, and God can delay that until the Day of Resurrection, and God alone knows that.

The majority of Sunni scholars believe that the soul is returned to the body of the deceased after the grave is entered, or even some of the body in the event that the body has inflicted something of it by amputation or burning, so this does not prevent the fact that the body of the deceased has been torn to pieces, or burned completely. Because God is able to restore life to his body, even if only for a small part of it, and it falls on the part of the body that remains to ask the angels for him in his grave.

Ibn Hubaira and others went that the question of the two angels about the deceased in his grave only falls on his soul and does not fall on his body, and this implies that they deny that the soul of the deceased returns to his body after the burial and when the angels ask him.

Ibn Jarir al-Tabari and a group of scholars saw that the two angels’ question of the dead in his grave only falls on his body, and that God Almighty creates in him awareness, hearing, and the ability to dialogue and answer, and makes him suffer if he deserves torment, even for a while, and also feels blessed and enjoys it if He was one of the people of piety and righteousness.

How does the deceased spend his day?

There are 3 types of life, the worldly life, the life of the isthmus, the life of the afterlife, and the other two types of unseen matters, Life is The life that a person lives is divided into three parts: first, the life of the world, which ends with death, and second: the life of the isthmus, which occurs after death until the Hour of Resurrection, and the third is the life of the Hereafter, which is after the rise of people from their graves, either to heaven or to fire.

And al-Barzakh life is that which occurs after the death of a person until his resurrection, and whether he was buried or not buried or burned or eaten by lions, which indicates this life is what the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, that the dead after being placed in his grave hears the knocking of the shoes of his family, as it came in the hadith .

This life is either bliss or hell, and the grave in it is either a garden from the garden of Paradise or a pit of fire digging, which indicates the bliss and torment in it, the words of God Almighty on the people of Pharaoh: “They offer fire to it tomorrow, evening, and day. The torment becomes more severe ”(Surah Ghafir: 46), Ibn Masoud said: The spirits of the family of Pharaoh and those like them among the infidels are gathered from the fire in the morning and evening, so it is said that this is your home.

The life of the dead in the isthmus

Life of the dead Many Qur’an texts came to prove what the slave goes through after entering the grave, including stages between questioning, reckoning, bliss and torment. For whoever in his life is close to God – glory be to Him – is attached to him, those stages will pass through a simple series, and whoever is oblivious to God is sinful Obedient to his whims and desires, he will experience the most severe forms of torment, reckoning, and questioning from the angels of God. The following is a statement of some texts that prove something about what the deceased is going through in the grave according to their logical order:

Whoever believes in God is the right of faith, then he will enter his grave in peace and reassurance. If the two angels asked him, he would answer them firmly, calmly and reassuringly, because of his faith, piety, righteous deeds, and good preparation for the hereafter. And God deceives the wrongdoers And God will do whatever He pleases ”(Surat Ibrahim: 27).

If the deceased was brought to the grave and then his family left him, two angels came to him, sent by God – glory be to Him – to ask him some questions, and based on his answer to their questions, his fate would be in the grave that would lead him to his inevitable fate in the hereafter, and if the two angels came to the dead after the people left him, they would hold him in his place. In the grave, then they asked him about his Lord, who is he? If he was a believer, he answered firmly and confidently: My Lord, God, and they ask him about his Prophet, then he answers: My Prophet Muhammad, and they ask him about his religion, and he says: My religion is Islam, so that if he finished with the questions he would see his home in Paradise as a reward for what was good and piety of him, but the unbeliever would answer after Each of those questions by saying: Ha, huh, I don’t know, and his seat and place in the fire are seen as a reward for his following his whims and desires and disbelief of what God brought through the words of his prophets.

Will the torment of the grave continue until the Hour of Resurrection?

And this is confirmed by what came in the two Sahihs from the hadith of Anas bin Malik – may God be pleased with him – that the Messenger of God – may God bless him and grant him peace – said: “If a servant is placed in his grave, and his companions turn away from him, and that he hears the knocking of their sandals, two angels come to him, and they say he falls. You would not say about this man, to Muhammad, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, as for the believer, he says: I bear witness that he is the servant of God and His Messenger, so it is said to him: Look at your seat from Hell, God has replaced you with a seat from Paradise, and he will see them all. Qotada said and mentioned to us: He is cleared in his grave, then he returned to the hadith of Anas, he said: As for the hypocrite and the unbeliever, it is said to him: What did you say about this man? Then he would say: I don’t know. I used to say what the people said, and he would say: “You did not run, nor did you recite,” and he would hit a blow with iron hammers, then a shout would be heard.

After the two angels depart from the dead after asking him and see his place in Heaven or Hell, the life of the grave begins. If the slave is a believer, then he is expanded in his grave and he sees one of the manifestations of bliss and pleasure that makes him wish that the Hour will come near, so that he will move to the greater bliss in Heaven. As for the infidel and the immoral, after the two angels asked him and displayed his house in the fire, he hopes that the Hour will not rise so that he does not enter the Fire, and his grave becomes narrow for him. He feels the torment that comes to him from everywhere, and one of the most severe torments is that he sees his seat from the fire in the morning and evening. The Almighty said: “They shall bring the fire to it both in the morning and in the evening.”
