After Liverpool stumbled against Brighton, Klopp shouts of anger

Liverpool coach Juergen Klopp repeated his criticism of TV channels and the match schedule after his team drew 1-0 at Brighton on Saturday in the Premier League.

Klopp expressed his displeasure after setting the date for the match against Brighton at 12:30 pm GMT after his team played on Wednesday night in the Champions League.

“I don’t know how long I should say that, but you chose 12:30 pm as the start date for the match,” Klopp said in statements to the “BT” television network after the match.

“Between now and early December, there is one game on Wednesday and another on Saturday. These are difficult times. I am talking about it as it is. The difference between Wednesday and Saturday afternoon is really dangerous.”

As a result of match pressure, Liverpool lost James Milner’s efforts due to a ligament injury he suffered in the 74th minute of the Brighton match, after his participation from the start of the third consecutive match, as a result of the increasing number of injuries in the team.

Liverpool also misses Virgil van Dyck, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joe Gomez and Thiago Alcantara.

The Premier League has become the only competition in Europe that no longer adopts the five changes list instead of three changes, which were implemented last season following the outbreak of the Corona pandemic.

Earlier, Klopp directed his criticism at Sheffield United coach Chris Wilder, who voted against the list, saying it would give preference to clubs that participate in European championships.

Klopp noted, “When we had talks between coaches one week ago, the statistic was 15 to 5 if not 16 to 4 (referring to the number of coaches who agreed and refused to implement the list), and therefore nothing happened.”

“You need 14 votes, but Chris Wilder said I am selfish, I think all the things he said are selfish as well, but it was the same for me when I was coaching Mainz as well.”

“It was all about staying in the league, but Sheffield United have three substitutions and one point if I’m right,” he said.

Klopp concluded by saying, “If you could not make five substitutions in a match like this, it is not due to technical reasons.”
