Khaled Hegazy, Director of the Education Directorate in Giza, issued an administrative order that students leave schools at 12 noon today, Wednesday.
The decision also included canceling evening classes in all schools for students and teachers in anticipation of rain in a number of areas of the province, according to the forecasts of the meteorological authority.
An official source at the Ministry of Education and Technical Education revealed that the decision includes only students not attending, while teachers attendance continuously.
The Meteorological Authority issued a warning to citizens on Tuesday evening, through its official Facebook account, regarding the weather in the coming hours.
The authority said, starting from the early hours of tomorrow, Wednesday, a state of instability begins in weather conditions, as the rains fall at dawn on the entire western coast (Alexandria – Matrouh – Salloum), and the intensity of the rains increases during the day, with sunrise.
The authority added: “Rainfall also includes the entire delta, Cairo at noon, and areas of northern Upper Egypt gradually progressing east to include the cities of the Canal, Sinai and the eastern coasts, which are heavy and thunderstorms, as thunder clouds are accompanied by hail and strong winds.”
