Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer echoed the remarks of his Tottenham counterpart Jose Mourinho about the difficulty of the current season in the Premier League.

United narrowly defeated West Bromwich Albion in the ninth round of the Premier League, which was the team’s first victory at home to Old Trafford in the league this season.

“The league this season will be difficult and unpredictable,” Solskjaer said in remarks highlighted by his club’s website.

He added, “Jose Mourinho, Tottenham’s coach, said that one victory brings you to the top and one defeat brings you to the bottom. Yes, it is very difficult.”

And the Norwegian coach added, “It may be early, but collecting points is sometimes more important than performance.”

On facing West Bromwich, he explained, “Certainly it was difficult to prepare after the international break. It is not easy at all when everyone is away for 10 days, so we are happy to win.”

And the former Red Devils striker added, “We could have done better, but 3 points and coming out with a clean sheet is more important.”

And he continued, “I am happy with the clean sheets and we could have made the match more comfortable for us, but the international breaks never help.”

He explained that by saying, “We have prepared for everyone one day before the match, and we did not know the results of the Corona virus tests, so all our preparations were on the morning of the match, that is not easy.”

“We have to do better than this, we know that, if we want to advance in the ranking, we have to play better,” Solskjaer said.

United’s victory at home is what happens for the first time this season, after losing to Crystal Palace, Tottenham and Arsenal, and tied against Chelsea.

But finally United managed to break the stage of dreams to achieve their first victory at home in the league this season thanks to Bruno Fernandez.

The Portuguese international scored United’s only goal from the penalty spot in the 54th minute, after an exciting minute in the match.

Initially, the referee awarded a penalty kick to West Brom in the 53rd minute, before returning to video technology and deciding to cancel his decision.

Immediately afterwards, he awarded a penalty in favor of United after West Brom defender saved Juan Matas cross with his hand.

Bruno took charge of the kick, before West Brom goalkeeper Sam Johnston went up in front of him and blocked the kick, but the referee decided to return it again due to the goalkeeper’s progress.

The second time Bruno successfully converted the penalty kick.

United reached the 13th point in ninth place.
