FilGoal | News | Solskjaer: What happened against Basaksehir is unforgivable

Manchester United coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer criticized what happened to his players in their defense while Istanbul Basaksehir scored the first goal.

Today, Wednesday, United lost two goals to Basaksehir in Turkey in the third round of the European Champions League for Group H.

Demba Ba managed to score a goal after being alone from the middle of the field and for that shot, the Norwegian coach said: “We forgot to defend against the striker who was in our stadium, this matter can be forgiven.”

And he added, “We were not well organized as well in the second goal shot.”

“The performance was not good enough against a good team, and we threatened more than once,” he said.

“We had 45 minutes to equalize and get a point, but we couldn’t. This match gave us a test of the fact that we will not get the three points easily,” he added.

Solskjaer stressed, “It is not easy to be positive now the way we lost, but we have a chance to make up for what happened against Everton next Saturday.”

He concluded, “The result of the last two matches was a punch in our stomach. The only way to respond to what happened is to achieve positive results against Everton, and we are happy that there is a meeting on Saturday that we have to play.”

United stuck at six points at the top of the group and Basaksehir got the first three points in his history in the Champions League in his first participation in the competition.
