German Army: Turkey prevented us from inspecting a ship bound for Libya

The German army confirmed today, Monday, that Turkey has prevented German forces operating as part of a European Union military mission from inspecting a Turkish cargo ship “believed to be transporting weapons to Libya,” according to “Reuters”.

A German military spokesman indicated that “soldiers from the frigate“ Hamburg ”boarded the Turkish ship, Rosalina-A, overnight, but were forced not to carry out inspections and withdrew, after Turkey lodged a protest against the European mission.

While Turkey made it clear that the ship carried various materials such as “food and paint”, and that the inspection team “violated international law” by not waiting to obtain permission from Turkey.
