Virus hit Corona The new “Covid-19”, the ranks of the football team at Al-Ahly club, days before the match against Zamalek in the African Champions League final, scheduled for next Friday at Cairo International Stadium.
The medical swab of the emerging virus showed a positive sample of 4 players in the ranks of the red team, before the historic confrontation that brings it together with the traditional rivals, for the title of the continental championship.
The infections began after the medical swab confirmed that Mahmoud Abdel Moneim “Kahraba”, the team’s player, had the new virus, last Thursday, before a few hours later, his teammate, Saleh Jumaa, was declared infected with the global pandemic.
The duo underwent home isolation until the date of the new swab, scheduled for tomorrow, Monday, in order to determine their position on catching up with the continental final.
Two days after the injury of the Al-Ahly duo, Ahmed Yasser Rayan, the striker of the Red Team, whose loan ended with the El Gouna team at the end of last season, revealed that he was infected with the emerging virus as well, through a post on his personal account on the “Instagram” website yesterday, Saturday, before the matter was repeated with Mohamed Sharif. The player of the team, who just declared himself infected with the epidemic.

Team camp closed today
Sayed Abdel Hafeez, Al-Ahly Football Manager, announced that the club’s first football team will enter a closed camp, starting from Sunday, until the completion of the upcoming match in the African Champions League final, scheduled for the evening of November 27 at Cairo Stadium.
This decision came to provide more precautionary and preventive measures to maintain the safety and focus of players before next Friday’s match.
The team performed a medical examination yesterday evening, inside the club’s headquarters on the island, after returning from Alexandria and completing the Abu Qir fertilizer confrontation, which was held at Burj Al Arab Stadium, and ended with the team’s victory with two goals to one, so that Al-Ahly qualified to face Al-Ittihad of Alexandria in the semi-finals of the Cup Championship Egypt.
