An official source in the quinquennial committee of the Egyptian Football Association confirmed its stability in appointing Mazen Marzouq as the head of the Competitions Committee, succeeding Husam Al-Zinati, who submitted his resignation.
In his statements at Laila Kora, the source said that Mazen Marzouq had been appointed head of the Competitions Committee, especially since he had previously been in this position before Amer Hussein, the former head of the Competitions Committee.
The source added that the Football Association was heading to appoint Amer Hussein, who was a candidate with Mazen Marzouq to take over the chairmanship of the Competitions Committee, but his candidacy for the Jabaliya elections prevented his appointment in this position.
The work of the five-year committee, headed by Amr Al-Janayni, ends at the end of this month, and in the event that a new board of directors is elected, it will be charged with appointing the head of the competitions committee, and he will have complete freedom either by keeping Mazen Marzouq or seeking the assistance of another individual.
The draw for the new season of the Egyptian Premier League 2020/2021 will be held tomorrow, Monday, while the competition will start on December 9 as an initial date.
