In a horrified voice, Farida Ramadan, previously known as “Muhammad Ramadan”, spoke about the journey to search for her identity, which was set after many years. It is true that the fiftieth lady was able to get rid of the male imprisoned inside her body, and turned into a full-featured female, but the Ministry of Education does not want to recognize “Farida”, and “Muhammad” remained in the official papers, and thus she did not receive her financial dues.
North of Damietta, Farida worked as an Arabic language teacher for more than 13 years, but after undergoing a sex reassignment surgery, she was fired.
“Farida” said, through the “Al Hekaya” program on MBC Egypt, that she had undergone health conditions that forced her to undergo a sex reassignment surgery because of her illness, and continued: “I used to work in a school and so far and since I underwent the conversion process, I have not returned to my work.” .
She added, “I did the sexual correction and I am still on a search for my file, which bears the name of Muhammad Ramadan, so that I can return to my work or get a pension for the period I worked in, but I have not yet been able to access the file.”
Farida sent a message to the Minister of Education, after knocking on all the doors, saying: “I am sick and taking treatment, and there are reports of my medical condition, and I have no choice but to go to the operation.” She paused for a moment, then continued: “I want to return my job or at least get On my financial dues, which help me to live, because I remained living on God from foreign aid. ”
“Farida” also wishes to get her financial dues for the period in which she worked as a teacher in Damietta governorate. She explained, “A student, two needs that I deserve from the Minister of Education and an apartment, God willing, a room and a hall.”
Farida added, “He has now settled in Buhaira governorate, and I went through health conditions that forced me to undergo a female sexual reassignment surgery because of my illness … and I was working in a school and so far and since I underwent the conversion process, I have not returned to my work.”
And about the most difficult thing she went through to prove her identity after the sexual correction, she said: “The head of the civil registry in our country in the country sat saying (Why do you wear that, Muhammad?), And treat me as a man, and if it were not that I was guided and understood the situation, the matter would not have happened to me, I told him. (If you want to reject the file, I will reject) ».
She indicated that she had become an ordinary person and wanted to marry, and said: “Now I can marry normal … and the state recognizes me as a female.”
Dr. Manal Awad, the governor of Damietta, said that she is following the problem of Farida Ramadan, and added that the Education Directorate will communicate with Farida and work to solve her problems.
She indicated, through a telephone intervention in the same program, that she had asked the Director of the Education Directorate, the job file for the memo, to be in front of her, in preparation for her return to her job again.
Available with strict rules
The World Health Organization defines gender identity disorder as “a gender inconsistency that leads to a marked and persistent contradiction between a person’s gender identity based on one’s experience and the other specific to it.”
Recently, an expert at the World Health Organization said that he concluded that “transgenderism has nothing to do with mental health”, and has therefore been crossed out of the chapter on mental health disorders, according to him, “because we have become more aware that this is not related to mental health.”
In Egypt, Dr. Amr El-Nagary, a professor of plastic surgery at Qasr Al-Aini, said that sexual transformation in Egypt “is available, but according to strict legal rules.”

He continued: “4 conditions must be met to perform the sexual transformation process, the first of which is the approval of a medical committee from the Ministry of Health, the second is to conduct medical examinations and analyzes that prove the ability to do so, and the third is the approval of specialists in psychiatry, and the fourth is the no objection of the Fatwa House to change of sex.
