The film “Matares” by the Algerian director, Rachid Ben Hajj, won the Decallo Prize for best feature film in France.

The Algerian film “Matares” won the Decalou Award for Best Feature Film in the 17th edition of the Cannes African Film Festival in France, which recently concluded its activities.

The festival’s website reported that the work was also directed at the Decalou Award for Best Actress, which returned to the child Dorian Yoho, who played the role of the child “Mona”.

The film revolves around refugee issues in the Mediterranean, through the story of an eight-year-old Ivorian girl, Mona.

Telfa “Mona”, who lives in the coastal city of Tipasa, was working on selling flowers in order to obtain money that would enable her to travel to Europe with the help of smuggling gangs.
