Workshops for youth and children … at the Aswan International Film Festival for Women – Watch – Al-Bashayer Newspaper


The management of the Aswan International Film Festival for Women in Egypt has revealed that it has started accepting applications to join the fifth session of the workshops, which will be held in February.

The next session will witness the organization of 5 workshops, namely: “Film Industry Workshop”, “Scenario Workshop”, “Film Development Workshop”, “Aswan Animation Workshop” and “Children’s Animation and Cinema Workshop”.

Sayed Abdel Khaleq, Director of the Festival’s Workshops Department, said that the workshops of the fifth session will start on February 1 and will continue until the 30th of the same month.

Those wishing to receive a grant to participate in the festival’s workshops must fill in the form on the festival’s official website, and the festival’s official Facebook page.

Abdel Khaleq added: “The festival organizes a film-making workshop, which is concerned with the education and training of girls and young people from the age of 18 to 40 in film making.

It is interested in young filmmakers who have already been trained in filmmaking, and who possess theoretical and practical knowledge of filmmaking and have previous experiences, in addition to the script workshop that is concerned with teaching the script, explaining how to develop initial ideas and work on them until the stage of the final scenario.

He continued: “The festival will hold two animation workshops in its next session, the first being the“ Aswan Animation Workshop for Adults ”. It aims to assist and train those with previous experience in developing their own cartoon film projects.

As well as those who have a desire to know the basics of animation in cartoon films, through moving the paintings of contemporary Egyptian artists, in addition to the “Animation and Cinema Workshop for Children”, and is interested in teaching children from the age of 7 to 14 years on the techniques of making animated films with special and simple techniques.

Abdel Khaleq pointed out that the festival has succeeded during the past years in discovering many talents in Aswan Governorate, and it is considered the only outlet that gives them the opportunity to train in the various arts of cinema and film making, stressing that Aswan Governorate is full of talents that have a great future.

It is noteworthy that the Aswan International Film Festival for Women will hold its fifth session from 20 to 26 February next, and at the opening ceremony, the star Ilham Shaheen will be honored, as it grants her the Isis Achievement Award in recognition of her long artistic career.
