The Syrian police arrested the Syrian artist, Engi Khoury, on charges of defamation and entering Lebanese territory by stealth several times.
Newspaper sources, citing “Sputnik”, said that Khoury, whose real name is Najwa Khaliq Allah, was arrested by the Syrian Criminal Security after a lawsuit filed against her by the Lebanese artist, Shiraz.
Shiraz filed lawsuits against Khoury in Lebanon and Syria, after her recent attack and defamation against her, following the alliance of Angie Khoury with the Lebanese artist, Amar.
The Public Prosecution Office in Syria ordered that Engy Khoury be brought in for investigation, but she did not respond to the notifications she received.
Sources say that the Lebanese actress’s legal agent followed the case closely, until Angie Khoury was arrested and transferred to a security headquarters for investigation. And if the issue of her illegal exit from Syria to Lebanon is proven, she will face imprisonment for at least 6 months.
In 2019, Angie Khoury attracted attention when the Lebanese Internal Security Forces arrested the artist, Adam, after a lawsuit filed by Khoury for kidnapping and beating.
And Lebanese media reported, “The Syrian artist did not abandon her case against him, contrary to what was rumored, and unlike what the Lebanese artist, Qamar, did.”
In a video clip that was widely circulated in late October, Khoury accused the Lebanese artist of kidnapping her and transporting her to the Sabra area, where he held her, according to what she said, for two days during which he beat her.
