Miura, the 53-year-old, has played with Yokohama since 2005, and his contract renewal will continue with the team for the 16th season.
“I feel I can play. My passion for playing football increases day after day. I want to lead my team to victories, I will continue working to achieve my goals,” Miura said after his contract was renewed.
Miura is one of the legends of the soccer game in Japan, as he played for Santos, Italy, Genoa, Dynamo Zagreb, and Australian Sydney.
Miura played 89 international matches for Japan, scored 55 goals and led the team to win the 1992 AFC Asian Cup.
