Sayed Abdel Hafeez, director of football at Al-Ahly club, announced that Walid Suleiman, the playmaker of the team, had a tear in the posterior muscle.
Abdel Hafeez revealed in statements to the club’s official website, that the x-rays performed by Walid had proven that he had a rupture, and he would be absent for a period of no less than 4 weeks.
Al-Ahly Football Manager confirmed that Walid Suleiman was not able to participate with the team in the Club World Cup scheduled in Qatar in early February.
Abdel Hafeez explained that Walid Suleiman will start implementing his rehabilitation and treatment program under the supervision of the team doctor, starting from Wednesday.
Walid Suleiman complained of a posterior muscle injury before the Al-Ahly game, but he started the match, before being substituted 30 minutes after the start of the match, to renew his complaint about the injury.
Next Thursday, Al-Ahly will face Al-Mokawloon Al-Arabi at Al-Salam Stadium in the ninth round of the League Championship.
Al-Ahly is waiting for the Club World Cup draw, scheduled for 5 pm today, to find out his way in the Club World Cup.
