A source inside the technical staff of the Egyptian national handball team confirmed that Ahmed Al-Ahmar, captain of the national team, is ready for the match against Macedonia at 7 pm tomorrow, Saturday.
The Egyptian team will meet with its Macedonian counterpart, in the second round of the seventh group of the World Handball Championship, hosted by the Egyptian territories, and its competitions will end on the thirty-first of January.
The source said in a statement to “Yalakoura” that Ahmed Al-Ahmar participated in yesterday’s training, after he recovered from the pain he suffered in his back, and kept him away from the first match of the Egyptian team against Chile.
The Egyptian team opened its campaign by defeating Chile, with a score of 35-29, while the Macedonian team received a late invitation to participate in the World Cup, after the withdrawal of its Czech counterpart due to the infection of a number of its players with the new Corona virus, and lost its first confrontation against the Swedish team, with a score of 32-20.
