Al-Ahly club officials want Moamen Zakaria, the Red Genie player, to travel to Doha as part of the Red Castle mission in the FIFA Club World Cup.
The World Cup begins on the first of next February in Doha, the capital of Qatar, and Al-Ahly club will participate in it as champion of the African Champions League.
The journalist Ahmed Schubert confirmed during his radio program via On Sport FM on Thursday morning that Al-Ahly club officials are planning to travel with the team to the World Cup for clubs.
Schubert said, “Al-Ahly decided to travel with the team, Moamen Zakaria, if his health condition allowed him to travel to Qatar for his appearance in the World Cup.”
He continued, “There is a workshop today, Thursday, in which Khaled Mortaji, a member of the Board of Directors, Sayed Abdel Hafeez, director of football, Amir Tawfiq, director of marketing, and some Al-Ahly officials, will participate in preparing for the World Cup.”
Schubert concluded his remarks by stating, “ The team will travel to Qatar by a private plane headed by Mahmoud Al-Khatib and accompanied by 23 players. The comparison is currently being made between some names of the players, such as Rami Rabia and Junior Ajay.
