Sayed Abdel Hafeez, Al-Ahly Football Manager, revealed the details of the injury suffered by Moroccan Badr Bannon, the team’s defender, 48 hours before the opening match of the Club World Cup.
Abdel Hafeez said, in statements carried by the official Al-Ahly website, “Bannon had suffered a slight bruise in the ankle during his participation in the team’s training this evening, Tuesday.”
He added: “The player underwent a thorough medical examination, and it was found that his injury is light, and he will be present naturally in Al-Ahly’s main training session tomorrow, Wednesday.”
Al-Ahly channel confirmed that the team’s technical staff, led by South African Pitso Musimane, preferred not to complete the player training to avoid aggravating the injury.
It is reported that Al-Ahly will meet Al-Duhail, Qatar, tomorrow, Thursday, at the start of the team’s career in the Club World Cup, to be held in Qatar from 4 to 11 February.
