Kevin Johnson, coach of the year in the first team at Al-Ahly club, said that the preparation for the FIFA Club World Cup began a month ago, adding that the crowd chants to Mahmoud Al-Khatib – the club’s president – dazzled him.
The Al-Ahly delegation is located in the city of Doha, Qatar, to participate in the FIFA Clubs World Cup, where the team is scheduled to start its campaign against Al-Duhail next Thursday.
During statements to the official Al-Ahly website, Johnson said: “Preparation for the Club World Cup began a month ago, as we prepared the players psychologically for these competitions early in order to reach them to the highest levels of concentration in the tournament.”
He added, “The players are physically ready for the tournament, and they have a strong desire to provide great levels in this great tournament.”
He continued: “Everyone is excited about the tournament and everyone is greatly anticipating the Al-Duhail match, especially as there is a strong focus and determination to win the match.”
The general coach of Al-Ahly continued: “After the tournament draw was held, we started talking repeatedly with the players about the importance of focusing only in the Qatari Al-Duhail match, and not being preoccupied with the Bayern Munich match. European champion. ”
He continued: “Al-Khatib supports us strongly and his presence with us in the Club World Cup gives us great motivation to fight to achieve impressive results.”
And he added: “The scene of Al-Ahly fans welcoming us here in Doha was impressive, and the cheering for Bebo was dazzling … for a player to move away from the ball and hang up his shoes, but his popularity continues to rise in this way, it is a matter of pride.”
He concluded: “We did not come here to celebrate our coronation of the African Championship. We are here to achieve the best results and reach the farthest point in the competitions.”
