Al-Duhail club captain, Al-Moez Ali, confirmed that his team respected Al-Ahly more than necessary during the first half of the match, indicating that the Qatari team awarded victory to the Egyptian team.
Al-Ahly beat Al-Duhail with a clean goal in the FIFA Club World Cup quarter-finals.
Al-Moez Ali said in statements to the Qatari Al-Kas channel: “Al-Ahly respected us more than necessary in the first half and gave them more than their size, and they took advantage of one mistake and were able to score a goal from this mistake.”
He added: “We entered the second half more seriously and enthusiastically and gave them their normal size, and they were defending during the second half, and we had to attack from the start of the match.”
Al-Duhail captain concluded: “We had the advantage because we are the owners of the land and we should not have respected the team more than necessary, with my respect to my family and I congratulate them on the victory, and our mistake was the one who gave them the goal.”
