Tigris Valley today, Monday, officially announced that it has signed Chilean coach Mario Salas to lead the team, succeeding Nicodemus Papavasilio.

And the official Dijlah account on the social networking site “Twitter” published an advertisement in which he revealed his contract with Salas, without disclosing the term or value of the contract.

The 53-year-old coach has never experienced outside South America, either in his career as a player or as a coach.

Salas began his career as a player with the Everton Chilean team in 1987 and moved frequently between various clubs in the country and the most prominent club he played for was the famous Colo Colo.

Sala retired with Everton in 2001.

As for his coaching career, it started in 2010 with Barnishia in the fourth division in Chile, and he coached the Chile U-20 team in 2013, which participated in the World Youth Cup and then beat Egypt in the group stage with two goals.

Salas also coached the Colo Colo team and stayed with them for one season in 2019-2020 and won the Chilean Cup with them.

Salas’ last training experience was with Allianz Lima, Peru.

Salas won the fourth division with Barnishia in 2011, and also won the first and second stages of the Chilean League in 2016 with Universidad Catolica.

The tournament in Chile is held on the first-leg system, and a champion is determined for him and a second leg, and a champion is determined for him as well.

Mario Salas also won the Chilean Super Cup with Universidad Catolica in 2016.

Salas’ last title was the Peruvian League in 2018 with Sporting Cristal.
