Elham Shaheen explained that the last time she met the late Izzat Al-Alayli was at the funeral of Wahid Hamed, may God have mercy on him, and before that the funeral of Mahmoud Yassin, may God have mercy on him, and both times he was collapsing by crying over his old friends and he used to say all the sweet people were gone and the salvation of the upper floor.
“I was trying to calm him down and pray for him for a long life,” Elham said, adding that he was compassionate and a good person beyond description. May God have mercy on him … We lost a great artist and a great person.
Mahmoud Al-Alayli, son of the late great artist, Izzat Al-Alayli, revealed to “The Seventh Day” about the date and place of his father’s funeral, saying, “The funeral will take place after the Asr prayer from Al-Marwa Mosque next to Dreamland Hospital.”
The late movie, drama and theater star graduated from the Higher Institute for Dramatic Arts in 1960, but he did not start his acting career immediately after graduation because of his care for his four brothers after the death of his father, so he worked for a while as a TV programmer, before the opportunity came to him through the film (Message from an Unknown Woman) year 1962, which marked his cinematic beginning.
After that, his works varied to participate in dozens of works between cinema and television, one of his most important roles was in the movie (The Land) in 1970 directed by Youssef Shaheen, and among his most prominent works (The Road to Eilat, People of the Summit, Mansouriya, Al-Tout and Al-Naboot), and in the theater he participated in Several plays, the most important of which are (Hello Bakwat, Village Revolution).
