Dr. Khaled Mujahid, spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, revealed the measures taken by the Ministry of Health and Population to increase the pumping of additional quantities of oxygen to cope with the increase in consumption rates.

Dr. Khaled Mujahid, a spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, said for the seventh day that negotiations had been held with a company to increase the production of oxygen to reach a production of 170-200 tons per day by reopening the stalled factories.

Khaled Mujahid added that negotiations had been held with Ezz Dekheila to allocate part of the strategic stock for the benefit of the Ministry of Health, leading to the provision of a strategic stock estimated at about 500 tons at the disposal of the Ministry of Health and Population.

He continued: New sources have been found to pump larger quantities for the benefit of the medical sector, with a total daily production capacity of up to 60 tons per day, pointing out that there are measures taken to manage the crisis and accelerate the rates of distillation and the supply chain to cope with the increase in consumption rates compared to production: including the establishment of a room to manage the oxygen crisis. Centralized in the Ministry of Health and Population, following up the consumption rates of all hospitals, collecting daily additional needs and pumping them centrally through the Ministry of Health according to the oxygen distribution map in the quantities and times that are worked out daily, with the oxygen crisis management room in the ministry linked to the crisis management room in the Council of Ministers to enhance coordination with the governorates at the level of the Republic and all Concerned state agencies.

Coordination has also been made with the Ministry of the Interior and the Egyptian Ambulance Authority to manage the passage of trucks, especially in light of bad weather and shura, indicating that it has limited places for strategic storage of liquefied oxygen, and this has contributed to achieving a strategic reserve of medical oxygen in Upper Egypt governorates of 30 thousand liters in order to avoid long distances Between sources of production and level.
