Eng. Sherif El-Sherbiny, head of the 6th of October City Authority, commented on the traffic jam before the 26th of July Corridor in the direction towards Lebanon Square, due to the breakage of a main water pipe at the Hyper area.
He said, “The water pipe was broken at approximately six oclock in the evening, and we went as a device to the site, and it became clear that the break had a pure water line with a diameter of 800 mm passing through the 26th of July Corridor, feeding multiple areas in Giza and Abu Rawash.”
He added, in a telephone interview, through the “last word” program presented by the media, Lamees Al-Hadidi, on the “ON” screen, saying: “The fracture was suddenly in the area of the Hyper 1 pedestrian bridge.”
He confirmed that the city’s apparatus succeeded in sweeping water by 60% of the accumulated water, and 5 traffic lanes have been opened and the slow line remains, and it will be completed within an hour from now.
