Report: Google Maps will soon get a completely new design

Recent reports revealed that Google is working on a new user interface for the Google Maps application, according to a report issued by XDA Developers, the company is planning a new design that is expected to be released to all users soon.

According to the report, the new design changes the “Route Option” screen to be “easier to understand”, where the new user interface shows a top bar that includes only the starting point and destination instead of a large white bar at the top, and this mainly excludes driving, cycling, walking and public transport that It will now appear at the bottom of the bar.

These have also been moved to the lower half of the screen that displays travel information for each of them, and the report said: “It appears that the updated route option screen in Google Maps is being tested at the moment, and it is unclear whether it will be offered to everyone in the future.” Earlier this week, a report by 9to5Google claimed that Google has added support for getting Street View experience while viewing navigation screen by adding a split screen mode for Android users.

The report claimed that Street View Split screen is being rolled out widely via a server-side update, however, it hasn’t been rolling out to iOS users yet.
