Reports: A tripartite Egyptian struggle over Bayat

South African press reports revealed, today, Wednesday, that the Zimbabwean international, Khama Pelat, player of the South African Kaizer Chiefs team, is among the interests of the Egyptian trio, Al-Ahly, Zamalek and Pyramids to win his services next summer.

According to the South African “Soccer Laduma” network, Al-Ahly is considered the most likely to win the services of a Pelat deal due to the interest of the African champion in the player when he was in the ranks of the South African Sundowns in 2016, in addition to the presence of his former coach Pitso Mosimane at the head of the technical leadership of the Red Team.

The South African Network added that Al-Ahly has the financial strength to join the Pelat deal, especially since his contract with his current team expires next summer, which will be free of charge.

Bailat, the 30-year-old, has a clause in his contract, which is the eligibility of his current club Kaizer Chiefs to renew the player’s contract for another season, which is what the South African club seeks to sell the Zimbabwean international after in order to obtain financial benefit from the player’s sale.

And the South African Network stated, that there is one obstacle that will stand in front of Peliyat through the continuous injuries he suffered in recent times, the last of which was a fracture of the leg bone, which made him stay away from participation for 8 weeks.

It is worth noting that Pelat was one of the reasons for his former team, Sundowns, to win the 2016 CAF Champions League, which came at the expense of Zamalek, by winning three goals against one goal in the aggregate of the two matches back and forth.
