Dozens of people buried the body of Dr. Ibrahim Abdel Ati, the inventor of the HIV C and AIDS treatment device, this afternoon, at the age of 74, in the family cemeteries in Alexandria Governorate, and the family received condolences for the deceased at the graves.
Al-Masry Al-Youm lens monitored the details of the funeral.
Dr. Wafaa al-Derini, the sister of the deceased’s wife, told Al-Masry Al-Youm that Dr. Ibrahim Abdel-Ati had died from a heart attack, which resulted in him being transferred to a hospital, pointing out that he would have had a heart-bypass operation, but death followed him.
She indicated that the family decided to only receive condolences in cemeteries, in implementation of preventive measures related to the Coronavirus, and that the family will return to Cairo as soon as the funeral is over.
“Al-Masry Al-Youm” had the last press interview with the late on January 28, 2017, after more than two years had passed during which he had completely disappeared, after the severe criticism that befell him, following the announcement of the invention of a device for treating hepatitis C virus and AIDS. Which was not known before then.
