Canadian singer Christopher Plummer, hero of the popular classic musical “The Sound of Music”, passed away on Friday at the age of 91.
Christopher Plummer left our world peacefully in his home in Connecticut, with his wife, British actress Eileen Taylor, at his side.
Christopher Plummer was born in Toronto, Canada, on December 13, 1929 to a long-established family in the railroad business. He was the great-grandson of Sir John Abbott, the third Prime Minister of Canada.
At the age of 82, Plummer won an Oscar for his role in “Beginners” in 2010, and was nominated for the same award for his roles in “The Last Station” in 2010 and “All the Money in the World” in 2018.
Christopher Plummer is the oldest actor to win an Oscar, and his most famous roles are in the movie “The Insider” in 1999, “Knives Out” and “The Man Who Would Be King”.
