Al-Ahly defender Ayman Ashraf was injured during his time with the Egyptian national team, which is preparing for the conclusion of this month’s African Nations Cup qualifiers.
A source in Al-Ahly, Laila Koura, confirmed that there is a state of severe anxiety within the technical staff of Al-Ahly, led by Betso Mosimane, for Ayman Ashraf after traveling with the national team mission to Kenya, despite his feeling of knee pain.
The source, who declined to be named, explained that the left back of Al-Ahly suffers from his knee roughness and there is difficulty in participating in training and matches in the current period.
He pointed out that the technical staff of Al-Ahly refuses to interfere in the matter, especially as they strongly respect the technical and medical staff of the national team.
The player missed his team’s match against Ismaily, which was held in the league due to a rough knee, and left in the second half against Vita Club, which took place in Congo in the African Champions League for the same reason.
The national team departed from Cairo airport to the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, in preparation for the Kenya team in the fifth round of Group G of African qualifiers for the Nations Cup in Cameroon next January.
The Egyptian national team tops its group with 8 points, the same balance as the Comoros national team and the group’s runners-up, to weight the goals against the Pharaohs.
