Al-Ahly decided to play a friendly match against the club’s youth team on Thursday morning, at the touch stadium on the island, as part of preparing to face Al-Merrikh in the fifth round of the group stage of the African Champions League.
Sayed Abdel Hafeez, Al-Ahly Football Manager, said in his statements to the official Al-Ahly website that the team will play a friendly match at ten in the morning tomorrow, Thursday, in front of the club’s youth team at the touch stadium on the island, in the framework of preparing the players for the next stage.
Al-Ahly resumed training yesterday, after the negative rest that the team got after returning from the Congo ended.
Al-Ahmar is preparing to face the Sudanese team Al-Merrikh in the fifth round of the African Champions League group stage matches.
Abdel Hafeez explained that the technical staff led by Pitso Musimani set March 31 as a date to travel to Sudan, in preparation for facing Mars.
Abdel Hafeez added that he contacted Anas Nasreddin, director of football at the Sudanese Al-Merrikh Club, in order to coordinate with him regarding the team’s training fields during his time in Khartoum.
He explained that the Sudanese Al Hilal will face the South African Sun Downs on April 2 next at the Blue Jawhara Stadium, the same stadium that hosts the Al-Ahly and Al-Merreikh match the next day.
Abdul Hafeez indicated that an agreement is underway to determine the dates and venues for Al-Ahly training in Sudan.
