Al-Ahly officials were keen to make many contacts with some officials in the Confederation of African Football, “enough” to inquire about the date of the last training session of the Red Team before facing the Sudanese Al-Merrikh.
Al-Ahly will be a guest at Al-Merrikh, Sudan, on Saturday 3 April, in the fifth round of Group A in the African Champions League.
A source in Al-Ahly said in exclusive statements to “Yallakora”, that the stadium on which the Al-Merrikh match will be held is witnessing a confrontation in the African Champions League on the night of the match, on the second of April, between Al-Hilal of Sudan and South African Sundowns.
The football team’s administrative apparatus is trying to resolve all matters related to the travel trip to impose more stability for the team in that important confrontation.
The source added that Al-Ahly will contact KAF and Sudanese Al-Merrikh officials to resolve the suspension of the last training of Al-Ahly on the match stadium, if it will take place on the first of April, given that the stadium is busy with another match on the night of the match, especially since the Sudanese Al-Merrikh Stadium is closed and the match will be held at Al Hilal Stadium on Omdurman.
Al-Ahly is in second place in its group with 7 points, behind Simba, the Tanzanian leader, with 10 points, while the Sudanese Al-Merrikh comes at the bottom of the group with one point, and the Congolese Vita Club is third with 4 points.
Al-Ahly is seeking to win the Mars match in order to advance a big step towards crossing the group stage, on its way to preserving the title of last season.
