Mohamed Barakat, director of the first national team, said that the technical staff of the Pharaohs did not receive any phone calls from Al-Ahly about the lack of participation of Ayman Ashraf, the left back in the Kenya match, as he explained the story of Mohamed Salah, the English star of Liverpool.
The Egyptian national team is preparing to face its Kenyan counterpart at 6 pm today, Thursday, in the fifth round of the qualifiers for the African Nations Cup in Cameroon.
During statements to “On Time Stadium” broadcast on the “On Time Sports” channel, Barakat said: “We will not risk any player who is not physically or technically ready. Ayman Ashraf is one of the hardworking players who has been with the Egyptian national team for a long time.”
He added, “The player suffers from a rough knee. He is still in a qualifying program with the national team doctor, but it will be difficult for him to be present in tomorrow’s match due to his lack of readiness.”
He continued: “We will not be able to confirm that he is not ready for the Comoros match (in the sixth round), if he feels better, then he will be with the team, and there is no truth to what was said about Hussam Al-Badri (the national team coach) receiving phone calls from Al-Ahly for not paying with Ayman Ashraf.
Regarding the crisis behind the sponsors not appearing on Mohamed Salah’s shirt, the team manager replied: “We received new shirts for the players a while ago and were used during the current camp, but the sizes were not accurate and the players needed larger sizes, so we had to use other shirts from the main store due to the lack of time. We could not print the shepherds on all the shirts. ”
He concluded: “Salah did not appear in a shirt without sponsors alone, and there were other players.”
It is worth noting that the Egyptian team tops the Group G table with 8 points, equal to the Headquarters Islands, while the Kenyan team is in third place with 3 points, followed by Togo with one point.
