Mohamed Barakat, the director of the Egyptian national team, assured that his team must succeed in convincing its Kenyan counterpart in the face of the two teams on Thursday evening in the African Nations Cup qualifiers that he came for victory.
In statements to “On Time Sports” channel, Barakat said: “Kenya has hope. They want to win us and then go to the last round in order to qualify. It is true that their hope is not great, but it is there.”
Egypt tops Group G in the African Nations Cup qualifiers with 8 points, on goal difference from the Comoros team, while Kenya ranks third with 3 points.
Barakat added, “We have to convince Kenya that we have come here to qualify without waiting for the last match. We must settle matters here before returning to Cairo.”
Barakat concluded: “The players are enthusiastic and strive to appear in the basic formation. Everyone wants to participate, and this gives us confidence and optimism, although choosing the formation is very difficult due to the presence of many distinct elements.”
