Ayman Taher, the coach of the Egyptian national team goalkeeper, revealed the secret of replacing Mohamed El-Shenawy, the goalkeeper of Al-Ahly, between the two halves of the Comoros match in the African Nations qualifiers.
The Egyptian team won 4-0 at the expense of the Comoros Islands at the Cairo International Stadium on Monday, and the two teams qualified for the 2022 African Nations Finals in Cameroon.
Taher said in radio statements: “Al-Shennawi complained of slight pain between the two halves of the Egypt-Comoros match, and we preferred to rest him, especially after advancing by a 4-goal difference at the end of the game.”
Al-Ahly is awaiting an important confrontation against Al-Merrikh, Sudan, at the latter’s stadium, next Saturday, in the matches of the penultimate round of the group stage of the African Champions League in its current version.
Al-Ahly needs to score 3 points from their matches against Al-Merrikh and Simba of Tanzania in order to reach the quarter-finals of the African Champions League.
