Cristiano Ronaldo, captain of the Portuguese national team, aims to achieve a new record at the level of his country, after becoming the player to score the most goals in football history.
At the national team level, Ronaldo scored 102 goals in 170 matches, to be the most player to score international goals with any European team so far.
Ronaldo is only seven goals away from the equivalent of the record number of goals scored by any player for his country in general in the whole world, which is the number recorded in the name of Iranian Ali Daei with 109 goals.
The opportunity will be for Ronaldo to approach the record for Daei and possibly smash it through the Portuguese team’s confrontations against Azerbaijan, Serbia and Luxembourg on March 24, 27 and 30 in the European qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup Qatar.
Ronaldo had opened his international goals through the only goal of the Portuguese team against Greece during the match that the Portuguese national team lost 1/2 in the opening of the European Nations Cup (Euro 2004) in Portugal, and this was Ronaldos eighth international match with the Portuguese national team.
On the other hand, Ronaldos last goal with the team was against Andorra during the friendly match, which the team won 7-0.
During these long years, Ronaldo scored the net of 41 teams with at least one goal, and the goals of the Lithuanian and Swedish teams were the most shaken by Ronaldos goals, with seven goals against each.
And a week ago, Ronaldo became the most goal-scoring player in football history with 770 goals, dashing Brazilian legend Pele.
